Incredible & Unique Places You Can Actually Stay

Admit it - we've all had that dream of spending the night in an ancient castle, beach side bungalow, ice castle or cozy treehouse.

Thanks to the abundance of unique accommodation available these days, this dream is able to become a reality easier than ever.

I've scouted out some of the best of the best, and here are the best unique and incredible places that you can actually stay in on your next adventure!

If you haven't heard, going camping no longer means you have to spend hours setting up a tent, sleep on the hard ground or use a flashlight to find your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Instead, "glamping," or "glamorous camping" means you get all the rustic fun of staying in a tent, but with the added luxury of it feeling like a luxurious experience.

How? Picture canvas tents, comfy beds and even a bathroom in your dwelling! Even if you're okay with rough and toughin' it, a glamping experience is something fun and special that everyone can enjoy. Plus, you still feel like you're getting away from the city for a real retreat.

I recommend checking out the different locations that Under Canvas offers. They have different tents for different needs in locations all over the United States.

This fancy little location in Shropshire, England would make for a perfect getaway. Located in a beautiful location that's surrounded by chestnut and oak trees on a 30-acre estate, you'll feel like you've stepped back into a classic fairy tale.

I never get any satisfying sleep on a plane, but this might be the only exception. Spend a night (or two) on this specially converted jumbo jet and you're sure to feel like you're headed on a new adventure. Alternatively, it might also make you feel like you could never fly anything but first class again!

Located in Sweden, Jumbo Stay and Jumbo Bar are right next to the airport - which makes complete sense. It's a cool option if you're looking for a place to stay before catching an early flight, or if you have a long layover and don't want to spend it trying to camp underneath those awful airport chairs.

Either way, it's a unique experience that you can't find just anywhere!

Another unique Swedish experience, cozying up in this frozen tundra to see the Northern Lights is a total bucket list maker, in my opinion.

Take a ride on a dogsled, warm up in the outdoor sauna and experience all the nature that the Swedish lapland has to offer. Don't worry - your sleeping area is plenty heated, so you'll be able to enjoy the frozen tundra while keeping nice and cozy. I can't think of a better way to experience seeing the northern lights!

Nestled in the heart of the Tuscan landscape is where you'll find this modern, glass beauty. Why go to one of the most beautiful, romantic parts of the world and not be able to see any of it? Instead, you can enjoy all the beautiful landscape views from bed - and be close to major cities as well!

According to the description, the property also offers a tennis court, olive trees and even a swimming pool that guests can enjoy. So all in all, it sounds like a win-win to me!

What could be more fun than getting a group of friends together to enjoy the sunset from this unique perch?

This huge hammock is just a part of the adjacent hostel that also offers a restaurant and bar. Get group together - or feel free to meet some new ones there - and enjoy an evening of drinks and chatting while sitting above a jungle.

Built into a hollowed sandstone cliff in Worcestershire, England, this amazing retreat has a very "Middle Earth" type of vibe. The caves themselves are over 700 years old and are surrounded by gorgeous woodland that feel straight out of your favorite fantasy novel.

Updated with heated floors, these cliff homes are a unique type of accommodation that you can try out for yourself and get a bit of a feel for what it might be like to be in the presence of fairies and other magical woodland creatures.

Okay, who doesn't dream of staying in a castle every now and again? With this beauty, your dreams can finally come true.

It's one of Airbnb's most popular places to say, it's easy to see why. With 17 different rooms to choose from and a delicious breakfast included, guests can feel spoiled...like royalty. Plus, there's plenty of grounds to explore on the 15-acre property.

If staying in a castle is at the top of your list, then spending a night or two in a lighthouse is probably a close second. What's more inviting than the sounds of lapping waves and being able to spend time in such a classic structure.

This particular lighthouse was built in the 19th century and is attached to the keeper's home. Only an hour away from Boston, it's the perfect place to spend a couple night while visiting another fantastic major city. I don't know about you, but I immediately added this spot to the top of my list.

A windmill with a view

Last on today's list is nowhere near the least interesting place on this list. Located in Greece - and how can you beat that - this converted windmill offers unparalleled views and an amazing, unique housing experience.

The location on the top of the hill offers a great view of the nearby town, which is only a 10 minute walk. There's a beautiful seating area, doors that open to let in a sea breeze, and so much rustic beauty that you'd be crazy to pass up an opportunity to stay here. Another location that is now high up on my list!

What's the most unique accommodation that you've experienced? Are any of these now on your dream wishlist?
